GTA 6 receives an 18 rating in Germany
Quick summary
Germany’s USK has classified GTA VI for adults on PS5 and Xbox Series. The board lists drastic violence, drugs and criminal role models, and notes in-game purchases. Its entries do not say what those purchases contain.

The same decision on both consoles
The USK database lists Grand Theft Auto VI as “no youth release” under Germany’s Youth Protection Act. That is the board’s 18 rating. The PS5 entry carries a classification date of 13 October 2026; the Xbox Series entry is dated 13 September 2026.
Both entries name Take-Two Interactive GmbH as publisher. The different classification dates do not by themselves indicate different game content.
What the descriptors say
The USK cites drastic violence, drugs and criminal role models. Its entry says violence is clearly shown or strongly emphasized, drug use appears positively or frequently, and criminal acts may be presented without criticism or played down.
Both records also carry an in-game purchases notice. The database does not identify what could be sold, so the label alone does not establish an online mode or a specific monetization plan.
Release plan is unchanged
Rockstar still schedules Grand Theft Auto VI for 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official Launch Trailer artwork above is illustrative; it is not evidence of the German rating decision.
