Why GTA 6’s launch trailer looks warmer and softer to some players
Quick summary
Reddit players are comparing the GTA VI Launch Trailer with earlier official videos. A warmer yellow cast, stronger glow and a softer image have prompted downgrade speculation, but the posts do not establish that the final game’s graphics have been reduced.

The comparison behind the debate
On r/GTA6, u/transparent_slime placed road shots from Trailer 2 and the Launch Trailer side by side. The post describes the newer video as more yellow, bloomier and blurrier, while calling Trailer 2 sharper and more vibrant. It offers no cause, instead asking whether time of day, weather or a more cinematic treatment could explain the difference.
Replies divide along much the same line. Some prefer the clarity and color of Trailer 2. Others read the Launch Trailer as a moodier storytelling edit and point to the separate Extended Look. Another comparison thread, this time using Trailer 1 and the Launch Trailer, has prompted the same argument over style versus image quality.
A look is not proof of a downgrade
All of those explanations remain player interpretations. Two selected frames cannot show whether the difference comes from lighting, weather, color grading, video compression, post-processing or rendering settings. They also cannot establish how the finished game will look.
The safer conclusion is narrow: the official videos use visibly different presentations, and some viewers prefer the earlier one. The jump from “this looks softer” to “the game was downgraded” still lacks verifiable evidence.
Compare the official uploads
Rockstar’s media page retains the Launch Trailer, An Extended Look, Trailer 2 and Trailer 1. Anyone comparing them should begin with those official versions rather than relying only on screenshots that may have been recompressed.
